It feels like slow motion

Today I felt like my life was in slow motion. My homestudy should have been sent to immigration 2 weeks ago. That is all they are waiting for. Fingerprints have been checked. I really wanted to call the whole thing off today. I was really hoping to have DTC in June sometime and LID in July sometime. Well that will not be happening now. Who know's when that will be. The way it looks now, we will be lucky to travel to China in 2008. Which will be impossible because China is hosting the Winter/Summer Olympics. Chinese New Year is in February. So basically China will be closed down for the first 3 months of 2008. So if we don't get to travel in 2007 it will be a 2+ year deal from start to finish. That is very depressing. I have a few things to keep me busy though. My beautiful son, my wonderful husband, my family and the OHGWQ yahoo group that I joined recently. I got involved with 4 swaps right away. I finished the Ladybug and Butterfly swaps. I have the Ballet & 100 Good Wish Asian swaps left. I really like doing them now. If my friends from 20 years ago knew that I was so into exchanging fabric and wishes, the emergency rooms would be filled. LOL I will have well over 100 squares and wishes for Lily Rose soon. The ones I have received so far are great. Most of them are from the groups I joined. Only have 4 from my family and friends so far. But that's ok, we have a long way to go yet. So no rush. I really need to add some more things to this blog. I REALLY need to find someone to help me. Well, that's it for now. Until next time...

It's Been A While

It's been a while since I was here. So many things have been going on in the last month. My mother had a major operation and thank God everything went well. She is home and recovering. We are waiting to hear if we have immigration approval. All of our documents are waiting in Delaware at Adoption House (our agency) to get authenticated. I was hoping to have DTC & LID by the end of June. I don't see that happening now. Hopefully July. Well, It's Mother's Day and I really need to go and spend quality time with my beautiful son. Hope you all have a great Mothers Day.

Homestudy is completed

Well, we had our last visit with our social worker on Sat. The 29th of April. She actually came to meet us at my girlfriends house because my Goddaughter made communion on that day. So it was the only time our SW had for the next 2 weeks so I told her if she didn't have a problem meeting us there we didn't have a problem with it. So she came, we talked and that was that. She will be sending our completed homestudy to our agency today and hopefully they will get it to immigration by the end of this week. All of our documents are ready to be authenticated and that is a good thing. The paperchase was a nightmare. It took a lot out of me. But in the end it will all be worth it. We will have a beautiful little girl and my son will have the sister he wants really bad. He told us that next year he would like a brother. lol So I probably will be in the same boat again next year. I'm sure that we will adopt again. For us, it really is a wonderful experience. So I guess now begins the real test of the heart. THE WAIT. We will just have to hang in and keep our fingers crossed.

Dolls for Lily Rose

I went a little e-bay crazy. I won all these dolls for Lily Rose. I couldn't help myself. I actually have 2 more that just came in, but they are at my cousins house. I think I have enough for now. My son was really not happy that I won all these dolls for his little sister and nothing for him, so of course I had to do a little more bidding and I got some stuff for him too. Now everyone is happy. The things we do for our kids.

Our Wedding Picture

This was a test to see if i could post a picture. Well this was our wedding day. Nov. 13, 2004. My son Joseph looked so handsome that day. I can't believe it's almost 2 years ago already. Time sure does fly.

A RED THREAD

A red thread to China was cast today from us to a child so far away. This thread symbolizes an attachment of hearts, that distance alone can't keep us apart. This tiny, thin thread may stretch, tangle or fray, but our love for her grows stronger each day. Through the test of time it won't break or sever, she'll be a part of us forever and ever. So for now we'll just love her and pray everyday that God keeps her and loves her for us till we may travel to China, that land of great past, to the side of our daughter, to hold her at last.

USCIS Fingerprint Date

As I was leaving to go up to my son's school for his Spring Party today, the mail came early. It never comes early. As I was looking through I came across the envelope from USCIS. In it was the date for our fingerprints. April 19th 2006. I was jumping up and down like a little kid and my mother who lives downstairs from us came running up the stairs and the look on her face was priceless. But after I told her that we had the date, she started jumping up and down too. It was a great site to see since she just had an operation. Then I called my husband and thank god he didn't start jumping at work. lol So needless to say we are a very HAPPY family today. I also sent out to all my family and friends our "100 Good Wishes" letter. So that is very exciting too.

1st Post

I hope this works. I am so new to this. I have looked at some beautiful blogs. I can't believe some of them. I hope mine will be just as beautiful one day. This is such an exciting journey. I always hoped that I would get to this point in my life. Thank God for my wonderful husband and my beautiful, funny, loving son. They are so happy about this adoption as is most of my family and friends. Although it is a long and hard journey it will be so worth it when Lily Rose comes home. Every morning when I wake up I wish it was the day we leave to bring her home. But, that will not be until next year. My God, next year! How will I survive. With the help of all my family and friends. But most of all with the help of my husband and son. Until next time.....
